Video Premiere: Forever Young by Jay-Z and Mr. Hudson

By far one of my favorite songs on the BP3. Enjoy!

Speaking of the Carter/Knowles, family, Tina Knowles filed for divorce last week from Matthew.

40 Something...

Happy Belated B'day Jigga Man!

From Mediatakeout:

Shawn Corey Carter had a wonderful 40th birthday bash last Friday at the lovely Campo de Casa resort in the Dominican Republic. The celebration began on Friday night, with an elegant dinner party. All the guests were asked to wear 1920s clothing and most complied.

During the dinner, Beyonce introduced and then played a video for the guests. In it, Jigga's friends and told him how much they loved him, and how special he is to them. Apparently it was extremely touching and, while Jay didn't cry, he was visibly moved by it.

The guest list included (from MediaTakeOut)

•Diddy & Kim Porter (sorry Cassie)

•Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz (sorry Mashonda)

•Kanye & Amber Rose (sorry John Legend)

•Beyonce's mom and dad (who didn't sit together at the dinner)

•Jay Z's mom, sister and a bunch of relatives

•Solange (without boyfriend Wale)

•Alex Rodriguez & Kate Hudson

•Jay Z’s business partners Lyor Cohen and Steve Stoute (both with their wives)

•Designer Tory Burch

•And of course, Oprah, Gail and Stedman

Once the dinner was over, the party began. There was first a show - which included fireworks, dancers and synchronized swimmers. After the show was over, they started playing hip hop and R&B and everyone danced the night away.

After a long evening, everyone retired to their own luxurious suites - which were provided complimentary by Beyonce. The next afternoon, everyone was invited to an informal brunch - where Beyonce actually took to the grill and helped cook the lobsters that were served.

After the brunch, guests were told that they could remain at the resort for the weekend. But Jay, Bey and a few other couples hopped on Jay's yacht - and took to the seas . . .

Below are some pics of the suites where guests stayed (first pic), and of the inside of Bey's yacht (second pic).

Also Piper McKei of Global Grind blogged about his style through the years...check it out in the post below...

FINALLY!

Her song "Single Ladies" is an Internet hit among dancing babies and now, Beyoncé's working on a tot of her own. That's according to get this Jay-Z, B's notoriously tight-lipped hubby, who spilled the baby beans himself. While chatting up Gotham mag editor in chief Cristina Greeven Cuomo, the rapper let it slip that procreating is high on the duo's priority list right now. That's big news from hip hop's sneakiest couple, who wed secretly on a Tribeca rooftop and rarely even wear their own wedding rings in public. It's also a change in attitude for Beyoncé, who admitted on "The View" in April that while she was interested in motherhood, she was in no hurry to hit the birthing room after seeing the process upclose when her sister Solange did it.

I definitely want one, but I'm not ready for all of that. I don't think a person should see that before her time. It was a little much. But I'm so in love with my nephew, and every time I see him I'm like, God, he's just amazing.

All this action must be doing wonders for Brooklyn-born Jay-Z's already healthy self-esteem. "I don't dislike anything about myself," he told Gotham. "I know this sounds a little arrogant, but I really accept what God has given me. I've got a short temper, but I work on controlling it. I can say inappropriate things because I believe them to be true and sometimes that can be hurtful to others. But I think in the long run it is more helpful."

Well I am so happy to hear that they are going to build their family.

And FINALLY they are acting like a real couple. Backstage Thursday at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin, where both got awards, the husky rapper held his beaming wife in a big bear hug, When she got up to the podium, Beyoncé said, "There is only one person I want to thank, and that is Jay for putting a ring on it." And did she ever thank him with a big red lipstick smack on the neck for all to see as the two left a nearby nightclub in the wee morning hours.

Here's the video:

That's a line from Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys "Empire State of Mind."
The New York Yankees have used this as their opening song since the release of Blueprint 3. Jay-Z declined after being asked to allow this to be the "official Yankees" song. Not understanding that Shawn Carter but okay.

Here's a pic of Beyonce's husband at a recent game sitting beside actress Kate Hudson having a merry old time.

However, he and Alicia Keys agreed to perform the song at the opening of Game 1 of World Series on this  Wednesday night. Afterwards, Ms. Keys will peform the National Anthem.

Fashion Guru

You cannot discuss style or fashion without mentioning June Ambrose. In the image-obsessed world of music, who do the hottest artists call for a total fashion re-haul?  She has a career spanning over a decade, and a clientele which several icons such as Jay-Z and Mariah Carey

June Ambrose is the reigning queen of the trade. She says,

"Studying fashion was a privilege I did not have. My family emigrated from Antigua thirty years ago. There was no FIT, only books on costume-design—and I read them all!"

Ambrose began as an internt at MCA Records when the industry was a blank canvas and no one was styling celebrities. June started her company Mod Squad in 1994, completely self-managed. She's worked on more than 150 vidoes and had the most nominated, one year, in the history of any stylist at the MTV Awards. June likes to refer to her company as a total creative service.

"It's brand imaging---discovering the artist's alter ego and building a lifestyle around it—the sheets, the fragrance, the luggage.”

Some of your favorite videos such as "Show Em What You Got" (Jay-Z), "More Money More Problems (Diddy), "Stand the Rain" (Missy Elliot), and "So Sick" (NeYo). She has also acted as the set stylist for "Live with Regis and Kelly."

Be sure to also get a copy of her book, Effortless Style, in which she gives fashion advice on how you can achieve star power.
